Given how "bleh" the camera in the iPhone is, I don't think one
in the iPod Touch would have been of any value.
The thing that I find the most limiting (besides the lack of
physical buttons for the transport controls -- something they did
not fix in the 2nd gen Touch, either) is the lack of Bluetooth.
With Bluetooth, you could use a headset and actually make use of a
VoIP app, for example. Or a bunch of other things that Apple
doesn't let you do on the iPhone anyway, like zap images to it from
a cameraphone...
The 2nd Gen iPod touch DOES have Bluetooth. It is currently
limited to the "Nike + iPod" App though. We'll see if Apple ends up
expanding Bluetooth compatibility to Wi-Fi based VOIP Apps like
Truphone and Fring.

BT would have been good. I guess Apple want to ensure there is 'clear blue water' between the iPod Touch & the iPhone.
